GLASSLESS MINDS

Cultivating community, culture & Compassion through poetry

No one should have to carry their story alone.

Glassless Minds cultivates community, culture, and compassion through poetry by creating spaces where people are seen, heard, and reminded they are not alone. Through open mic nights, writing workshops, mentorship, and community events, we empower teenagers and adults to transform lived experience into voice, healing, connection, and belonging. While poetry is our heartbeat, Glassless Minds welcomes all forms of expressive art and believes creativity has the power to turn strangers into community and stories into human connection.

Perhaps the most crucial aspect of Glassless Minds is that its visionary practice is to model a radical humility and mutual dignity of simply showing up, of simply holding space for community care, holding space for our small and grand poetic dreams.

Glassless Minds has proven to be a valued and reliable partner, and the Oceanside Public Library looks forward to continuing this relationship. Together, we hope to build on our shared success and provide even more engaging, poetry-centered events that inspire creativity and foster a strong sense of community.”

Glassless Minds provided me with a warm, welcoming space to share my art. I could not be more thankful with their help in building my skills and confidence.
— Nicole Rayann, poet
Glassless Minds made me care about poems. My life is my life because of poems. The work that I’ve heard, the people I’ve met, the conversations I had out front after a show, Denny’s or burritos, I am forever grateful for. I never knew how supportive a community could be until I spent the Thursday’s of my adolescence in Oceanside with this brilliant group of humans.
